Daniel Ploeger has lived in The Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland, Germany, Palestine and the United Kingdom. He has studied the trombone at several conservatories and at the Orchestra Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. In addition he took contemporary dance classes at the Tanzfabrik in Berlin and attended electronic music courses at Steim in Amsterdam. He is currently specializing in experimental music theater in the “Centre for Research in Opera and Music Theatre” at the University of Sussex in Brighton, UK.
He has given lectures and masterclasses on contemporary music at the Manhattan School of Music in New York, the University of Western Australia and the Royal Conservatoire of the Hague. Daniel Ploeger is a member of the new music ensemble “Kammerensemble Neue Musik Berlin”. In addition, he has been working for a music education project of the Barenboim-Said Foundation. He teaches Palestinians and plays his own avant-garde music show for children on the West Bank.
