Michel Hatzigeorgiou electric bass
Hatzigeorgiou was born in Belgium as the son of Greek parents. At nine years he began to play the bouzouki, at age eleven, he started with electric guitar and at fourteen he finally switched over to bass.
The first band he played in was called "The Blackbirds". This was the period when he studied at the Technical Institute of Charleroi. During that period he played with Jaco Pastorius (who had great influence on him), MikeStern and Belgian jazz musicians such as Toots Thielemans, Cabay Guy, SteveHouben, Philip Catherine and Pierre Van Dormael.
He became involved in the project and The Quay in the Nasa Na Band, the forerunner of Aka Moon. This last band he formed with Fabrizio Cassol and Stéphane Galland. Hatzigeorgiou teaches at the Brussels Conservatory since 1998.
With the band Variations on A Love Supreme, he brought an album under the same name. He also played in the Erwin Vann Group and Toots ThielemansQuartet.
