Drummer Mark Young graduated in 2004 cum laude at the RotterdamConservatory, where he immersed himself in various styles, but specializing inLatin American music. He made study trips to Cuba and Brazilia.
Mark de Jong played with many groups and artists from the Dutch latin / jazz scene, such as Nueva Manteca, Ramon Valle, Denise Jannah, Roots United,Josee Koning, Dirindi, Tango Extremo, Gerardo Rosales, and many others. He made international tours in Oman, South Africa, Botswana, France, Spain, Portugal, Monaco, The Caribbean, Dominican Republic, Turkey, Sweden,Norway, Suriname eva countries.
Mark de Jong appeared several times on national television in programs such as the National Science Quiz, Vrije geluiden and Iets met Boeken.
It also leads his own Latin jazz 4tet Latineo in October 2010 the debut "Two Ways" released and received many favorable reviews.
Mark de Jong works regularly as a teacher of Latin Drums and Percussion at the Rotterdam Conservatory.
