Drummer & composer Robbert van Hulzen’s music plays somewhere in the multicoloured twilight zone between improvisation, rock, and contemporary composed music, with Indian and Indonesian influences. From the gallery jazz trio oto.3 to the hysterical energy of math punk band Lola Montez and the abstract storytelling of dancer Michael Jahoda’s Phillip Project.
He is currently preparing elephant songs with world collision rock group Om Viloma: an album and live concerts with musicians en route from South India to the Netherlands (on an Indian motorcycle), creating music using the musical ideas and preferences of the members-of-the-moment.
