Esther Kurtz (1976) grew up near Boston, United States, where they hobolesstarted the training of the New England Conservatory. In 1998 she got herBachelor of Music degree with Distinction at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, USA, where she studied with Richard Killmer Erin Hannigan, oboe and baroque oboe.
In order to continue her studies, Esther came to the Netherlands in 1999, with financial support from a Fulbright Full Grant. Here shestudied oboe with Ernest Rombout at the College of the Arts. In June 2003 she graduated cum laude from the second phase (Master of Music) direction Performing Musician, solo / chamber music.
In the Netherlands she has with the Ricciotti Ensemble and the National Youth Orchestra and played with suchMusica Ducis in Den Bos in Amsterdam and Holland Symphonia. Furthermore,she performs regularly with her ??piano-oboe duo Hibiki, with whom she played in the Suite Music Week 2004. It focuses on expanding the oboe repertoire by youngcomposers to approach new pieces for her to write.
