“Broken projections” (2005) film by:  Aliona Yurtsevich
“Broken projections” is an abstract visual miniature made for electro-acoustic composition “Intersection” for magnetic tape (1953-54), by Morton Feldman (1926-1987). There no concrete pitches are composed, rather Feldman notates in a system of little squares solely the number of tones... In the same illogical and disjointed manner, visual images appear and disappear, creating an impression of a broken projector or the film that never starts, somehow, resembling the nature of our random thought processes and its incoherent behavior sometimes.

“STEPs”  (2004) film by:  Aliona Yurtsevich
“STEPS” is a film made from the subconscious viewer – our feet. It's been filmed and audio-recorded simultaneously in one go, and edited with no changes to the relation between the sounds and visuals. By changing out usual way of perceiving things around us, which activates other sensors of our perception - certain patterns, relations and sounds are being revealed. Its rich sonic world has a life of its own - not always known to us - conducting one polyphonic orchestra, where we are all playing a solo part in some unknown composer’s piece.

“The story I read on the way back” 2004 film by:  Aliona Yurtsevich
A visual collage created by observing the nature and its objects on a bus journey from the country side (Woodstock, US) to New York city.
It is the flow of non-narrative imagery that uses site seeing as a dramatic storytelling experience. The music (a collage from various contemporary classical pieces) becomes its inner voice and inner expression, just like a needle, sewing images together inside-out and outside-in into seamless flow of raw emotions, making objects come alive.

"Launched Jagged Poppets"
newly formed electro-instrumental duo (2009), with razor-blade sonic sensibility on the edge of falling and flying, silence and sound, stillness and chaos.

Aliona Yurtsevich: tedra, percussion toys
Angel Faraldo: live electronics
